In 2007, North Carolinians sent over 60,000 emails to legislators opposing the Home Tax. This effort stopped a statewide 1% land transfer tax. At the same time, 78% of voters surveyed said they oppose new taxes on homes.
In 2007 and 2008, voters at the local level have, soundly rejected the idea of a new Home Tax in 24 local ballot campaigns across the state.
And in March of 2011---just last week, NC lawmakers introduced legislation to repeal the land transfer tax. And we need your help.
Take action today, and let your elected representatives know you support repealing the land transfer tax. Click here to email your legislators.
